A few pictures from Saturday. Ethan got to play with JJ for a couple hours on Saturday. They had a good time playing with cars and watching a movie and having a snack and popsicles. He was pretty upset when JJ had to go home but they'll get to play again this weekend over the 4th. They have such a good time. And Tristan is right there along with them trying to keep up. Second one is of the boys moving sand around with their new "job" as Ethan called it while Dad and Papa finished putting the dock together.
A couple of the boys having a cookie snack. Tristan was pretty proud to bring the Ethan a cookie too and wanted to go take a picture by him.
Was another beautiful evening. We grilled some burgers and hot dogs and had supper on the deck in the shade. Then, as we were finishing supper, Ethan decided to give us a dance show to the music we had playing and of course Tristan decided to join him and try to copy his every move. Was pretty cute to watch. Took a video of them goofing around too it's down below.
Here was the dance show. Ethan had quite the moves. He was all over the place. And Tristan was right there with him trying to mimic every move. Summersaults, cartwheels, rolling around, you name it, they tried it.
Little video of the boys showing their dance moves. Was funny to watch as Tristan tried to copy everything that Ethan did.
Then after all that, we headed out for a little bike ride. Ethan had already taken off ahead of us. The sun was really bright in our eyes if you can't tell from both of our squinting. Then we came back and the boys went down to play in the sand. They love their tractors and moving as much sand and rocks around that they can.
Then I finally hung up the hammock that I got for Mother's Day. And I took a little relaxer by myself till I called Ethan over to show him it. Then he wanted to climb right in and swing rather than just relax. It was so cute because Ethan was swinging us and Tristan didn't see he had left so as he noticed us he was peeking around the post under the deck looking at us then all of a sudden took off in a sprint towards us. Then as you can see they were both up for swing rides. After that Ethan snuck in and brought out push ups for he and Tristan and an ice cream sandwich for me. Then we headed in for baths and bedtime.
Can't believe my baby is 2!!! Tristan had a long, busy day today. First was daycare, then Grandma picked him up and brought him to Bismarck along with Ethan, then he played at the playground by Grandma Ella's, then we went to my company's family picnic and amusement park before heading home. I thought we should at least let him blow out two candles on his birthday cupcakes that he took to daycare on his actual birthday day. We are going to have his birthday party on Sunday. Here are a few after we got home tonight before bed.
Here's a little video of Tristan blowing out his candles. Each time he blew them out he'd say more. Was pretty cute. And he blew them out like a little pro. (Click the little triangle at the bottom left of the picture to play the video.)
My company had our family picnic and then the amusement park for a few hours after that tonight for us. The boys had a great time. Ethan went on as many rides as he could...race cars, super slide, rock climbing wall, train, chairs that swung in a circle, ferris wheel...lots of fun for him. Tristan was really only into the ferris wheel. He went down the slide twice but giggled and then kind of whimpered too...think it kind of scared him still. Rashad ended up being gone so Grandma came along to help out. Both boys were pooped. Tristan didnt' make it to the interstate and by Sterling Ethan was zonked out too. Busy night for them both.
Little video of Ethan driving the race cars. He really liked these.
Little video of Ethan bumping into the car in front of him when it was time to stop.
I had the camera turned to take a picture of the whole wall and didnt' turn it back when I started the video so sorry but this video is sideways of Ethan climbing the rock wall.
Tried to get some pictures of Tristan on the gator to make his birthday cake with so first took one with both boys. Then lucked out and got one with Tristan smiling pretty cute with just him that I'm hoping to use for his cake for his birthday party this weekend.
And then after supper, the boys have gotten used to their ice cream "treats" of push ups. Here's one of Tristan still finishing up his sitting in the bathroom watching Ethan already in the bathtub taking his bath. And one of Ethan in the bathtub already with all his bubbles.
The boys had monkey quilts and monkey decorations in their bedroom. We finally decided that it was time for the squares to go away. So, Ethan and I painted the wall light blue like the other 3 walls and actually gave all the walls a recoating too while we were at it. Then, I decided to get brave and paint some grass, vines, and monkeys. Well I finally finished up the monkeys on Sunday so here is a picture of how it turned out. I may still paint some palm trees on the sides and maybe some clouds yet but we'll see if I get to that. Might have to wait till after summer for phase 2.
Well, almost the end of June and we FINALLY first got on the water with the new tube that we bought last year and never got to use. It was absolutely beautiful when we got home, lake looked like glass. So told Rashad to blow up the tube so we could try it out behind the pontoon. Took some pursuading to get Ethan on it but he finally climbed on in and off we went. He was scared for a bit but then had a great time. It is a 3 person tube that you actually sit in so it's great for the kids(and me :) ). About 3/4 of the way around the lake we stopped and were going to switch and let Tristan take a turn and then Ethan didn't want to get off, so he climbed into the side seat and Tristan sat with me. He giggled like crazy, he loved it. They both couldn't wait to wave to Dad each time he turned around to check on us. I'm glad they both liked it after they got on. Ethan was even brave enough to jump into the water to go swim after we got back to the house. He didnt' end up actually swimming but I was more than impressed that he got in and walked around in the water even. There is hope that he'll get more used to the water and be ready to play and swim in it yet this summer then. The water is so clear this year, you can see everything on the bottom as you walk along. It is so different, not used to that at all. Can't wait till Mom and Dad put their boat in so we can try skiing, kneeboarding, wakeboarding and maybe Rashad can even dig out the air chair to see if he can still ride it like he used to. Should be fun, can't wait!
We got to babysit for Mia for a little bit when Auntie Darci, Uncle Michael and Lillian went to the carnival in Bismarck one evening. Mia loves to stand like this. She is such a little cutie. Ethan as always was excited as ever to have her visit us.
Tristan is our little goofball still. He came walking in while I was painting with his rain boots on carrying his milk. It was so funny. Ethan had to take a picture.
Tristan brushing his teeth like his big brother Ethan. He was excited to get to. Daddy helped him to get them all clean.
Ethan, Cooper, and Tristan playing after Mia's baptism at the farm. They played real well together. The boys both came home with dinosaur stickers all over their shirts. They thought they were pretty cool.
