Bit behind getting pictures from last weekend out here so here they are. Decided to just group them all together. Saturday Cousin Lillian got to stay and play with Ethan and Tristan so first we went out and drove tractors and the gator. Then we played on the swingset. They all took turns swinging and climbing and sliding. Then we played in the sand till Ethan left with his friend JJ on their paddleboat to go play. Well, the two little ones were lost without Ethan so we decided to go for a ride on the Mule. Then after the little ones had their naps, we went out on the pontoon. Then we went out on the boat and I decided to ski again and Rashad airchaired. Then we were off on the pontoon for another ride again. Sunday morning we did a parade for the Camp Grassik kids. Their were only 4 of us but the kids still enjoyed it a lot. They were so excited. So glad we still did it even though it was windy and only 4 of us that went in on it. Then we went to the lunch over at Camp Grassik, always a very good meal. Then we stayed over on the calm side for the afternoon on the pontoon. Olivia, another lake friend, spent the afternoon on the pontoon with us too so the kids had fun playing again.
The boys were so excited to get to make some chocolate chip banana muffins. First Ethan was just helping but as soon as Tristan saw the action he wanted in on the fun too. It was rather interesting to say the least. They both wanted to help out and Ethan was trying to "teach" Tristan what to do since this was really probably the first time Tristan has helped too.
Sunday night the boys both had haircuts from Dad.
One morning this is how we found Tristan, sleeping with his bear as a pillow. Looked so cute! He's a really, really soft bear so I can see why he was sleeping on him. He needs to have his bear beside him now in his bed. He tucks him in under his covers just like we do to him. :)
Lillian, Ethan, and Tristan coloring nice together with Ethan always the little helper. And Papa Lonnie walking the little ones down to their cabin, Tristan and Lillian. And the arch enemies actually holding hands...see it is possible, they do get along. :)
This was the brightest rainbow I've seen in a long time. Had to get a picture of it, of course the picture doesn't do justice, it was so much prettier. And Ethan walking Tristan by the hand down to Grandma and Papa's. They were super excited to get to walk down by themselves.
Saturday before we went in for supper we all picked strawberries. We picked these two bowls full. The boys had fun picking them. Tristan couldn't wait so snacked on several as we were picking. Tried to get them to stand together to take a cute picture but as Ethan got closer Tristan would move over. So this was the closest it got with both almost looking and smiling.
Dad and his boys on the pontoon on Saturday afternoon.
And some more pictures from Saturday. It was an absolute gorgeous day on the water. Started the water day with the boys in a tube ride in the afternoon. Tristan was so tired that he fell asleep, IN the tube. Didn't want to get him burned so we were going to pull him in and lay him on the seat so he could nap but of course when we lifted him out he woke up so so much for the napping for the day. Then after our first ride around, we decided to go back and take out the boat for a spin. I decided I needed to prove to myself that I can still get up on one ski so I am now paying for that. :) Amazing the muscles you use that do not obviously get used otherwise. Then Rashad did some airchairing around the lake a few times. The boys had fun on the boat watching us both take our turns. Ethan was sure to tell us that be both did really good. I think they were just really excited to get to go fast on the boat too. Then after supper, they decided to play in the sand a little bit so here were a few shots. Ethan dug a hole for the ball, then they buried it, then dug it back up, then had to refill in the hole with the shovel and Ethan had Tristan dump the truck's load of sand back in too. Then it was in to the house for baths and bed really early for a change. We all had a busy day so we were all tired.
The Lake Isabel picnic was on Saturday. Here are a some pictures from it. It was very nice out, we lucked out.
Cowboy Tristan on the pontoon today. He loved wearing this hat all day. It's totally falling apart but he didn't care.
Tristan and I in the lake. We stopped for a dip a few times throughout the day. Felt like a shock at first but after we were in it was nice. And, as you can see, you can actually see in the water, still amazes me for some reason. Just not used to that part of it at all. Tristan right away was a bit scared but he eventually was laughing and giggling too. Was a nice swim. Much easier with the lifejackets on of course, don't have to work so hard to stay afloat.
And some more pictures from today. Big brother Ethan being a good brother helping Tristan get his sandals on this morning to go for breakfast next door at Grandma and Papa's. Dewey and Kori were down for the weekend so we spent the day on the pontoon with them and Mom and Dad. It was another nice day. Yesterday was nicer with no wind but today was still pretty nice on the other side of the lake. Hot enough to take a few swims. All in all was a very nice lake weekend. We got our water time in for a change so it was a great weekend.
Video of Tristan and Ethan tubing (as Tristan kept dozing).
Video of Rashad airchairing:
Had plenty going on over the 4th of July long weekend. (As I'm listening to more fireworks being shot off around the lake right now as I'm typing. :) ) The 3rd Ethan went and visited his friend JJ and then we went to supper and visited as well that evening. Before that we visited our neighbors next door while Tristan played with their grandson James. Then we headed into Dawson that night for the fireworks. Ethan was so excited for it, he giggled and yelled. It was funny to watch how excited he was. Tristan was excited too. He just watched in amazement as they kept going off. His facial expressions are so comical. He's our little drama king. On the fourth, we had an on and off kind of day...was sunny, then overcast, then sprinkled, then sunny, then rained, then by evening it really turned around and was a nice night. First thing in the morning it was absolutely beautiful, so we took no chances and headed out for a ride on the pontoon. We took the boys and Lillian out for a tube ride. They all jumped in ready to go and had a good time. We went out for a few rides on the pontoon throughout the day after that and then hung out at Mom and Dad's next door for some afternoon snacks. The kids had fun playing on the trampoline, and swingset, and jumping castle. Then after supper Rashad even dug out the air chair after like four years of not being able to use it and he got up the first try. Oh, and a few pictures of the rainbow after the rain that the kids were so impressed with. Ethan was even still talking about it today how it went from here to there all the way across the lake. Then today, we had breakfast on the pontoon. Then on and off rides with giving the kids some breaks to play in the water and in the sand. Then supper tonight and finally baths and to bed early for the boys. They have had a LONG weekend so needed to get to bed early tonight so they hopefully aren't little bears for daycare tomorrow. So here's some photos from the weekend. Click on any of them to click through them bigger too if you'd like. Hope everyone had a great 4th!
Thursday after work we went out for a pontoon ride. Ethan was ready to try tubing all by himself so he crawled in and Tristan wanted in too. I was a bit leary, but he climbed right in and loved it. They did really well. They made it all the way around the lake and back to the house. They had a fun time they said.
Had Tristan's Birthday party last Saturday. Did John Deere tractors for him since he loves tractors. Here are some of the pictuers from the day. Did a picture of him on the JD Gator for his cake. It turned out nice. After supper and cake, the boys went out and raced their tractors. They had a great time.
