The boys had a couple days of Halloweening. Yesterday Ethan had his Halloween party at school and he had a great time playing games and having snacks. Then we went trick-or-treating at the banks, BEK, and the courthouse with Auntie Darci and cousins Lillian and Mia. They all had fun. This first picture was taken at the bank with their cute festive decor. Then today the boys and I went down to Napoleon to go trick-or-treating. The boys were both Inidan Jones. Ethan chose Indiana Jones this year and when asking Tristan what he wanted to be, of course, he said Jones, just like his big brother. So the boys got dressed up and Papa Lonnie decided we all had to dress up to, so he was the Joker, Grandma Carol was a devil, and Mom was an angel. :) We had a fun time. The boys had a great time going to all the houses that we stopped at. Ethan became a little pro at ringing door bells, saying trick or treat, and then thank you before heading on to the next house with a light on. Tristan wasn't so sure right away. The masks Ethan was trying on at the farm scared him and after Papa painted his face white, he really wasn't sure. He said dirty, off. It was so funny. Then when he came back with the eyes and lips painted, he said, stop it, dirty, off. :) It was so funny. But then he got used to it and it was Joker when he called for Papa. And Joker's coming. He really got into it after awhile too and followed right behind big brother with his pumpkin pail and would say thanks and smile. We stopped by the White Maid for some fruit freezes then headed back to the farm to pack up and head home. When we got home, the boys unloaded their pumpkins and all the treat bags they got. They were very excited. Thank you everyone! They grabbed their pumpkin flashlights and we headed to bed to read their Halloween books. They both said they had a lot of fun so that was the best part.
Tonight the boys and I carved one of their pumpkins. Ethan couldn't wait. They both wanted in on helping with everything. Ethan picked out the pattern that we printed out and copied on to cut out. And he didn't miss when I conveniently forgot to trace on the eyebrows, as you can see, we had to go back and draw them on anyway so we could cut them out. They had a fun time with this. This was the first time we've carved a pumpkin.
Got the boys these pumpkin accessories to decorate their pumpkins with today. They couldn't wait to get them in the pumpkins. Tristan was sticking them anywhere and everywhere so Dad had to help him out a bit. Ethan got his all in where he wanted them all on his own. They were pretty excited.
Last year I had got this pirate pumpkin accessory kit for the boys so dug it out yesterday and Ethan helped to put them in. Tristan watched and was pretty excited when it was all done. Trying to get both boys looking and smiling again, a bit of a challenge.
Little hunters, Tristan and Ethan, pretty proud and excited with their toy guns getting ready to go hunting with Dad.
Little hunter dudes in their hunting gear, Ethan and Tristan.
Ethan's class got to go on a field trip to the firestation on Thursday. Ethan was so excited to get to go. He came home with a firehat, stickers, frisbee, all sorts of goodies.
Grandma Ella was down to play with the boys. Here they are before bedtime having their snack. They sure had a lot of fun playing again...they always do when she is down.
Last weekend we went to Brandon and Renae Fettig's wedding in Bismarck. We stayed up overnight so the boys could play at the pool too. Got a decent picture of us even. The boys looked so cute all dressed up, but I realize I didn't even get a picture of just the two of them all dressed up. We played at the pool in the afternoon before the wedding. Ethan played along the pool and in the little wading aread down the little slide then hung out in the hot tub to play. We got ready for the wedding and at supper the boys were pretty much the leaders for clanking dishes to have the bride and groom kiss...they were really into it. Then, the centerpieces had little lights in them like flashlights so that entertained them for a long time too...they thought they were pretty cool. Then after supper, they got to dance with their friend Lexie from daycare, cousin Brit, and even Grandma Vivian. They lasted pretty good till after 11 then they were ready for bed. The next morning we got up and went down to the pool to play again. Ethan still wouldn't go in the pool but liked the hottub and went down the little slide some more. Tristan on the other hand, loved the big slide. He and Dad went down over and over. He even got brave and jumped into the pool over and over and didn't give Dad a break. It was pretty cute. We had lunch at Applebees before heading back home. Then we hung out at home for the afternoon.
Tristan loved jumping into the pool and having Dad catch him. Here's a little video of it:
Both Grandma Vivian and Papa Tony's birthdays were in September...so when they were up this particular Sunday, we made a birthday cake for both of them.
Ethan and Grandma made the birthday cake and also made cookies. They also played some games too. They had a great time.
Rashad and Tony finished hauling in the sand to refill the sand area that had washed out this spring.
Lots of pictuers again to share.
The boys pretty proud of their giant kholarabis that they grew with Dad.
Last Sunday we got out the fall and Halloween decorations. The boys were pretty excited. They had to get everythign out and play. They love the noisey ones of course and the pumpkin hats.
Saturday was a nice day. We went out for breakfast on the pontoon before the motorcycle gang took off their run for Blayne. The kids had lots of fun playing.
Spent the afternoon/evening with our neighbors next door. The kids had a blast playing with all the toys. They drove all over the place while we sat and visited. The kids decided to block and Papa and Grandma's vechicle as it got darker. It was pretty cute that they even thought to do it. :)
And the motorcycle gang heading out and when they went past our house on the way to Napoleon. Mom and Dad, Kori and Dewey.
