Happy New Year...

We kinda celebrated New Years today, on New Years Day. Earlier, Ethan helped me take down the Christmas decorations and tree upstairs, then we played some Wii till Tristan woke up from his nap. Then we made monster cookies, had supper, and then got out the Happy New Year hats and the party poppers and played Zingo(bingo with pictures on the bingo cards) and a few games of Wii Mario Kart before the boys went in for bed. We spent New Years Eve at home with the boys watching movies. We watched Night at the Museum 2 that the boys just loved. There were several parts that they will be repeating over and over for some time. It was funny to watch them giggle and repeat phrases. Then we watched Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs and that was good as well. Ethan wanted a malt, so we made malts and then after the movie the boys were pretty tired so they didnt' quite make it to midnight, they went down around 11:30. Then Rashad and I watched another movie, Hangover so made it to midnight(after we both fell asleep and had a few little cat naps during the first two shows). Was a good night, had fun spending it with the boys.

Sausage Making...

Picutes from Sunday and Monday's sausage making. Using the new sausage stuffer. And some of the kids playing in the shop. Ethan wanted to get in and help with the sausage as well. On Monday, he was the labeler, he was pretty excited about that.

Christmas with Schaffners...

Saturday we planned Christmas at our house for the Schaffners. All Rashad's brothers made it, but with it storming like it was, his parents decided to wait until Sunday to come up. We still had supper and then we moved on to playing some games of Catch Phrase and Taboo while the kids all played downstairs, colored pictures, and eventually tuckered out and watched some movies. It was a fun time and we had some good laughs. Then, on Sunday, the sausage making began. We took the kids out snowmobiling and sledding for awhile. And then we had supper and opened our presents that night. Lots more great gifts from everyone. The boys will be having so much fun with all their new toys and games and new clothes too.

Christmas Day...

Christmas Day we ventured out in the snow to Napoleon to the farm at Mom and Dad's for Christmas with them and Darci and Michael and the girls. We had a delicious lunch of crab legs, hotdish, and all other sorts of dishes as well. Then it was off to open presents since the kids were all ready. The kids had a great time opening presents and then it was getting them all out of their packages. Ethan got his batcave that he had been hoping for and was pretty excited. Papa helped him get it all out and set up, not sure who was more into it. Tristan's favorite was his Handy Manny motorcycle that you can take apart and change pieces on. They got all sorts more toys that they love too and lots of games that they will love playing with and some clothes too. They will have no shortage of things to play with that is for sure. We had desert after presents and then we all headed home before dark since it was still snowing and blowing.

Christmas Morning at home...

We got home late Christmas Even night, so the boys went straight to bed and ended up sleeing in till almost 9:00, which for them, is definitely sleeping in. Rashad went out to blow snow so he wasn't home when they got up, and holding them off when they saw their presents from Santa wasn't going to happen so we videoed it for him. Ethan was super excited when he opened up the black spiderman costume and then the red one after that since he didn't ask him for them just had said before that he wanted them from santa, so he was pretty excited that Santa just knew that he wanted them from him too. He then opened the Wii Mario Kart, and was also excited as you can see about that. He had scratched the other one last year so decided he wanted a replacement. Tristan was just excited watching Ethan at first. Then when Ethan was all done, he got his turn. He got a farm set from Santa and some animals and the boys were both excited about that. According to Ethan, the green tractors were Papa Lonnie, and the red tractors were Papa Tony, funny how they remember everything. Then when Rashad got back in, we opened the rest of our presents from us and from daycare and our neighbors. They loved everything and of course wanted to open as much as they could play with. But we had to get going to head to Napoleon for Christmas lunch at the farm with Mon and Dad and Darci and Michael and the girls. So the playing had to wait till later.

Christmas Eve...

Christma Eve for the Nagel side was in Bismarck at the Comfort Inn. We went swimming in the afternoon and then got ready and went down to the Christmas room for plenty to eat, Santa's arrival to hand out presents, pictures with Santa, and the gift exchange. Ethan wasn't feeling real great so he and I went and watched a movie in the room after Santa left and while everyone finished up the gift exchange. Felt so bad for him because he loves to run around and play with all the kids. But Tristan stayed back and helped everyone open up their gifts from what I hear. :)

Swimming Christmas Eve day. We just stayed in the room from the day before since it was at the same hotel, so everyone went swimming in the afternoon...Chance, Josh, Danielle, Addison, Clark, Savannah, Tony and Vivian.

Swimming...

Took Wednesday off and took the boys swimming at the Comfort Inn with my parents and Rashad came after he was done working. We picked up Grandma Ella too and had pizza for supper and opened a few presents. She enjoyed watching the boys play in the pool. We had a really good day of swimming. The boys had a blast! They did really, really good. I was pleasantly suprised. Even Ethan went in and swam around with just his ring or water wings on. Papa had brought a swimming thing that pulled you around so they had fun playing with that too. The pool was warm and there was a huge hot tub so it was a really great pool area. The boys opened a few presents from Grandma and Papa and one for each was some swimming masks, fins, and hand things with little squirt guns in them. Tristan's was a shark and Ethan's was spiderman. They look so cute in them it was too funny to watch. They were so excited to get to swim around with them on.

Snowmobiling...

After finally getting a little snow on the ground, the boys finally got a chance to go out snowmobiling this weekend. Yesterday when we got home from Bismarck, we went out till dark. Ethan was so excited to get on and drive his new little snowmobile. He took off and there was no turning back. He was a bit scared to go down and drive on the lake on the nice and even surface, but once we got him down there he was spinning around in circles and everything. It was so funny to watch. He was laughing and yellling oh yeah. He had a great time. Tristan got on with me and we drove around following Ethan and spun in some circles too. Then, we put Tristan on the snowmobile and he drove around for a bit too but then was ready to get off. Ethan is way more into it than Tristan is, he'd rather ride with Mom which is fine with me. Only thing, Ethan gets mad because we get ahead of him. :) Doesn't go fast enough for him he thinks. For driving in tight quarters, it goes plenty fast...for driving longer distances, he's right, it's not fast enough. Today we went out for an hour or so too to let them drive a bit.

Happy Birthday Grandma Ella...

Grandma Ella turned 85 on Saturday so the boys and I went up to Bismarck with Grandpa Lonnie and Grandma Carol to take Grandma out for her birthday. Well, to the boys' delight, Grandma wanted to go to McDonalds. :) The boys had fun playing in the playland and Grandma enjoyed watching them. We went back to Grandma's to open up presents and blew out the candles on her Santa cake. The boys blew them out over and over and over again.

Santa Claus Day...

Saturday I took the boys down to Napoleon for Santa Claus Day. They had a blast. Ethan was excited to get to see Santa but Tristan didn't want to sit with him. He finally stood beside Ethan but that was all and then covered up his face. :) But they had a great time playing all the games: basketball, ring toss, ball throw, football toss, shooting, balloon darts, fishing, bean bag toss, and plenty more. Ethan had his face painted...three times. :) (a sleigh, fire, and christmas lights) And also got a santa tattoo. They had popcorn, water, an milk for the kids. Every game also gave out prizes(even when the didn't win). They also gave out bags with little gifts when you came in and had you register for the prizes at the end. They gave away lots and lots of gifts. Luckily, both boys won something. Ethan won a rodeo set with bulls, cowboys, and fences and Tristan won a microphone. They do a really good job down there.
